Alex joined SCPDA in 2016 after working as both a private attorney and a public defender in Wilmington, NC. Alex earned her B.A. at the University of North Carolina Wilmington and her J.D. at Charlotte School of Law. During law school, Alex was a Charlotte Law Review Articles Editor and served as a founding board member of Stop Hunger Now. Alex also worked as a legal intern where she conducted extensive research for a case involving the Fifth Amendment in the civil context.
“I became a public defender because I want to help people who need it the most. I love working at an office where I am encouraged to achieve my clients’ interests through aggressive trial advocacy and I am surrounded by supportive attorneys from whom I can learn.”
